MBox & Speakers = Interferences
Hi there,
I just got myself some brand new active Yamaha HS-50M monitor speakers for my little farmland studio out here in the outbacks of Duesseldorf. And they sound quite lovely and the white cone looks kinda posh, too... however I have this problem with interferences.... See I have all my studio tools... Dell Laptop, MBox, Speakers, HardDrive, WiFi, Phone on my desktop and as soon as the speakers are conected to the MBox they make this interferenceish sound... when I plug the laptop into the powerline (I only have one) a high freq noise is added on top.... unplugging the speakers from the MBox kills this noise so it must be between the MBox and the speakers right... so I switched to symetric cables which made no difference AT ALL... anybody any hints or tips??? would be quite cool cheers, mully |

Re: MBox & Speakers = Interferences
try disconnecting the Wifi and moving the cordless phone. Sometimes when I have a cell phone in a studio with me the monitors will do weird things like that caus of the EM field.

Re: MBox & Speakers = Interferences
I bet you if just run the laptop off it's battery supply the noise will go away as well. It's when you run off mains power you may get noise on some laptops.
I've had this problem. Nick |
