PT 5.0 occasionally quits unexpectedly when looping
i had a protools 5.0 loop for 4 bars only 2 audio tracks and 4 midi,after about 5 minites it just quits.
G4 /400 YIKES 512 mb ram OS 8.6 mix plus no plugins other than digirack yet installed. is there something i can do to prevent this from happening? |

I'm not sure but the first things I would look at would be: - RAM allocation to DAE and to Pro Tools. Depending on your system, I would suggest atleast 30MB to each, more if you can afford it. You may need to get more RAM for your system. - DAE buffer size. In most cases it should be set to 2. If it is already at 2 try increasing it. - Disk cache in the memory control panel. Makr sure it is at 512k or lower and not the default setting which can be very high depending on how much RAM you have in your system. Jon |
