Default Laptop users! What are you using?

I was just wondering a general mac laptop setup that is working for people.

1. Model.
2. Processor speed.
3. RAM.
4. OS.
5. version of Protools.
6. Protools interface.
7. Anything extra like external drives..etc

What I'm really interested in is some results of the older clamshell ibooks and pre-titanium powermacs.
I know they aren't really supported by Digi. But I also know people are getting some usable results. I'm a HD3 owner and have LE on a few other desktop machines. I'm interested in setting up a laptop to use for remote recording. Maybe with either a 002 or Mbox. This would be very light duty remote recording.

Default Re: Laptop users! What are you using?

1. iBook G4
2. 800 mHz
3. 368 MB RAM
4. 10.3.5
5. 6.4
6. Digi002 Rack
7. A Beyond-Micro FW400 drive (w/ oxford 911 chipset)

It works fairly well, although sessions with more plugins (obviously) run abit slower. I'm sure more RAM would help this, as well as optimizing ProTools for the system.

1. Powerbook G4 15"
2. 1.33GHz processor
3. 1.25GHz ram
4. OS 10.3.5
5. PT 6.4cs7
6. 002R
7. Several drives of varying sizes using a wiebetech drivedock

Just got this system up and running this week - so far so good, aside from a couple unexpected quits using pro tools. Other than that, I love it. Daisychaining firewire devices (002R & drives) seems to work fine, though I haven't ran it hard enough to find its limit yet. Doing a post project at the moment, running uncompressed dv off the pb internal 60GB/4200rpm - working great.

3. 640
4. 10.3.4
5. 6.3

This set up has been rock solid. I must be one of the lucky ones. Running up to 20 tracks with around 12-14 plugs per session. Good value!

15" aluminum powerbook 1.25GHz, 1GB ram
osx 10.3.4 + protools 6.4
digi 002 rack + presonus digimax lt + t.c. m300
lacie pcmcia fw800 card + lacie fw400 160GB + lacie fw800 250GB

very capable package - live recording is possible simultaneously with foh mixing and providing monitor mixes as requested by the band. my only regret is the LE hardware limitation of 16 audio i/o plus one spdif i/o for effects. DIGI: double that in 003R and introduce a command|16 - then it would be a killer

I have a HD3 system and use my 002R for location work so plugins are not really an issue for me.
Ibook G4 1 gig
768 meg ram
002R
Mac OS X.3.4
PT 6.4
clocking with a Focusrite ISA 428 pre (I use the 002 pres when I run out of the good stuff or I'm traveling light)
Firewire...?...something with the oxford chip

At the moment I'm running:

1. iBook G4
2. 933Mhz
3. 1024
4. 10.3.4 (not got around to updating yet)
5. 6.4
6. Digi002Rack
7. Freecom 40gig, Midisport 4x4 interface and others midi based bits and bobs.

I've never had any problems, could even run protools on 256RAM before I upgraded. Its not like I'm running a dual G5 but it serves me well.
