Schlieren Photography...? Or SIM 3 from Meyer?

Schlieren Photography... anyone seen this Sci Channel Special? Awesome, perhaps we can photograph standing wave patterns in a room in the not to distant future... didn't show how accurate it is as far as air density changes... it was demonstrated with a candle as a source, not a subwoofer 'compressing' air... but the technique may be improving. BTW -- this is realtime video showing varying air density, not heat (as in infrared imaging).

The new hi-speed SIM 3 system for scoping out resonance peaks, dips, uses hi-speed SSDs so one can capture instant readings between 'gusts' of wind at large outdoor venues with zero latency.

Ok (edit) Blue Cheer played a concert near Ann Harbor: stage on one side of a lake, the audience on the other. Said to be the loudest outdoor performance in history. Don't think wind effects pitch or pressure waves? Why a SIM 3 then to scope out Shoreline Ampitheatre & its speaker arrays?

Schlieren Photography utilizes layers of glass. This was a 'How They Make It' Sci Channel special... there are a few google links but most lead to a dead-end. Anyone else seen this, or interested?

Those seminars on the SIM 3 analyzer are hosted at Meyer Sound. No I don't work for them, but know a bit about Professor Meyer and his incredible hearing. Supposedly he could hear a worm fart.
