Default Control surface options with the upcoming Apple Silicon version?

Does anyone know what relatively affordable control surfaces will be compatible with the next version of Pro Tools running on Apple Silicon? It looks like things like my old Command 8 will no longer work with the upcoming non-Rosetta version of Pro Tools, so I need to look into alternatives.

Would I be able to continue to use the Command 8 if I purchase a Neyrinck plugin?

I suspect only new thing that really makes sense is the S1 and Dock unless you want to go to the less capability of HUI.

Edit:

It's not so much a plugin it's the Neyrinck V-Control app.

Yes, check with them, I believe they have Apple Silicon support for the Command 8 already.

I am quite sure Neyrinck will come up with a solution.
I know they are working on support for C|24 (talked to them),
so the Command 8 support is probably in the same process.

Thanks, guys. I think I’ll reach out to Neyrinck and see what they have to say, and then go from there.

Great to hear about Neyrinck/C|24/Silicon. My heart sank when I learned they were no longer supported.

Well, believe it or not, the old Artist Control and Artist Mix still work well. I actually have a Euphonix MC Control and MC Mix that I paid $600 for BOTH used and both are updated with latest Avid firmware and work fine... even with the latest 2022.12 public beta running native on my Mac Studio.

I still have my Command 8 and while it has served me well with no issues I would have a hard time investing time or money into using it.

I would say if you don't mind the investment it may be a good time to switch to a Eucon based controller.

Eucon is just a whole different game all around.

I hope Neyrinck has us covered but if not the S1 has been a solid option for me and a couple guys in my company. I came from large format consoles then down to a ProControl then to a wide Avid Artist config and finally to the S1 (with accompanying iPad expansions) and it's still comfortable and works rather well.

I confirm, Artist Mix works on 22.12 apple silicon beta.
I'm so happy that I won't have to add an application like Neyrink or Soundflow to my system to have things work, also not have to pay for something that might even get in the way and waste my time. Artist Mix will fit my needs for many years more.

No doubt. Like mentioned I'm also of the opinion that the deep integration of Eucon control and those surfaces with PT is the way to go if into using PT heavily.
