Default Headphones? Also, 75' mic cord?

1. I'm shopping for new closed-back headphones, under $300, for location recordings. Beyerdynamic DT 700 Pro X for $249? Good/bad? Other options?
https://north-america.beyerdynamic.c...700-pro-x.html

2. Need a good 75 foot mic cord. WORLDS BEST CABLES for $76.45? Good/bad? Other options?
https://www.amazon.com/75-Foot-Balan...ef_=ast_sto_dp

Thank you!

The DT-770 is good for isolation but durability isn't great. I've replaced the top band cover twice and the wires to the cups are fraying. (My Sennheiser HD600 are much older and I've replaced foam parts, but overall much more durable -- obviously those are open back.)

World's Best does good solder work. (As good as Mogami pre-made, ProAudio LA, RedCo, etc.) If they have the right cable wire make/model you want and end connectors, go for it. (I stay away from the Amphenol XLR ends because they don't lock as nicely as the Neutriks)

I suggest Sony MDR-7506. @thomann.de
I have them, read the reviews from this online store! They speak for themselves.

Actually, I had a typo in my original post (now corrected). It should have read DT 700 Pro X. I'm looking for options that are a notch up in sound quality (the flatter the better) from the older DT 770, such as the DT 700 Pro X ($249).

WBC looks good. Thanks!

I've used 7506's for years in various settings. For me, they are a little bright, but they are nice for VO tracking. Now, though, for my location gigs, I'm looking for a notch-up in quality (i.e. flatter & more "premium" sound) from a closed back, such as the DT 700 Pro X. Budget is under 300. Thanks.

Have you listened to the Audio-Technica ATH-M50X headphones? That's what I use for monitoring on my symphony recordings. and that I also used on tour for the last several years. They're about $150-160.

Also, why not roll your own mic cables? You can buy Canare L4E6S cable and Neutrick connector and solder your own for way less than some boutique name brand mic cable. If you're only making a few then it's worth it. If you need a ton of cables for a full shop, then yeah it's probably not worth your time to solder all the cable by hand. But I do mine and I've got thousands of feet of mic cables in my private stock.

Flattest closed-backs?

Closed backs cannot be flat, due to the design. It always booms somewhere, be it high or low.

Have you tried Sennheiser HD 280 Pro by the way? Don't get fooled by the low price. Pleasant to wear and listen to. Also earpads and wire can be changed later if in heavy use..
