Default Is this drive qualified for PT LE, intel iMac

Why is it still such a headache to find which external firewire hard drive is usable with PT? We don't have that hassle with Logic and other daws... Anyway!

Is this drive will be ok? My iMac has two FW400 ports

The OWC drives are very good. They also have the classic series that has a pair of FW400 ports for daisy-chaining with a DIGI interface.

From Digi's site...FireWire 800 (or FireWire 400) Hard Drives
FireWire 800 (or FireWire 400) drives with the Oxford 912 or 924 chipset interface have been qualified for record and playback with the following systems on Mac OS X 10.4: Blah, blah, blah

The OWC is a good way to go.

So I'll go with that drive and if ever I got problems, digi will hear from me.

Well the classic has an oxford 934 chip... Digi is completly silent about that chip...Or it is what they call "a comparable one"...

I use one of these and it works fine with my Macbook Pro. It seems the iMac's are the ones that might have a problem mixing Firewire 800 and Firewire 400 devices on the same buss.

Thanks. Good to know. I'm gonna stick using fw 400 if ever I do the daisy chain thing.
