Default Adding channels to an mbox 2

How exactly would I add more channels to an mbox 2? I'm fairly new to protools but this is one question I couldn't seem to find the answer to no matter how much I research.

You could use a pre-amp with SPDIF connectivity to interface with the Mbox. This, effectively, gives 2 more inputs but that's about it.

Something like a couple of linked Samson C-Valve's might work.
