Default Avid staff - have some courtesy and advise if pt10 will be supported under os 10.9

Please.

Seriously, Avid staff / mods - it either will or it won't.

All we want is to KNOW EITHER WAY.

One sentence, one post will be all it takes.

A little courtesy is basically zero effort on your behalf but will help MANY of us make important decisions.

Forum members - please don't turn this into yet another discussion thread - I'm requesting Avid to finally TELL us what's happening. The discussion thread is here:

We the Mods have been pushing the Super-Mods for answering this, and the Super-Mods are keeping this issue alive in every Avid meeting, as far as I know.

My assumption is that there will never be PT10 support for Mavericks, but because Avid hasn't said anything, that is just an assumption.

I'm sorry that you feel bad about this, but there are plenty of others who feel just the same.

It's not an issue of courtesy, it's an issue of profit. Why would they spend money to support a version of PT you already own and paid for when you can be pushed into upgrading at a cost?

As far as profit goes, I'd suggest Avid take a "long term" approach to dealing with their customers on these matters. It may also be too late - i.e.., not enough resources left to do this sort of thing. If so, not a good sign.

FWIW, I have just set up a Mavericks partition (have a client that sent me a session in Logic X, so I had to move away from Snow Leopard). Even though I couldn't uninstall ProTools, so I just trashed everything I could find and installed the latest version. So far, so good. Color me shocked!

Also, I was extremely surprised by Logic X. Sounds great, easy on system resources, simplified controls, cheap. I abandoned Logic years ago but this new version is very impressive.

Best…H

Kinda makes me sick to my stomach because they have created a compatibility hole that I am stuck in. I have a new mavericks computer with tons of rtas plugins! every day avid doesn't do something about it I think more and more about going to logic.

Yeah...those Avid b*stards...

They all, equipped with the full "24" Invasion Packs, loaded up in black Chevy Suburban's, and snuck down to Cupertino via isolated back roads.

Then, the Avid guys, armed with their Invasion Packs, took over Apple, which the Apple guys were powerless to stop as they were armed only with their trusty iPhones, which are not much good against an AK or a 50 cal.

Then the Avid guys held the Apple guys at gunpoint and made them start installing Mavericks on every Mac leaving the building.

Just to screw up your life...

Now that is a fairy tale to be proud of!

In reality, Apple put out Mavericks on their schedule...all Avid can do is react to what Apple does...Avid probably had little to no input on Apple's schedule.

So, the people you should be pissed off at is Apple, not Avid...It was Apple that changed the OS.

I do not work for Avid (their loss)...my only relationship with Avid is that of a customer (when I'm not too poor to buy stuff, like now)...and that hot administrative assistant...that's more of a "thing" than a "relationship" (that should keep them guessing for a while...)

Just rockin'...what more is there?

NO.

I have asked for Avid to simply *STATE* if 10 will be supported under Mavericks or not. That is all. Only to have the basic courtesy of saying whether it will happen or not, so that we can all move on either way.

Again, forum members - please don't turn this into yet another discussion thread - I'm requesting Avid to finally TELL us what's happening. The discussion thread is here:

Please use THAT for further discussion. I'm asking Avid to post a simple message of courtesy here. SO far they have not, which basically makes them look bad (again) because this is not too much to ask. One sentence, Avid. Once sentence.

Still waiting.

So it's obvious you know the answer, your an adult.

So what it appears to be a stake here is you want avid to bow to your request?

Good luck with that !!!

Avid has NOT answered. Just because they've taken forever doesn't mean they've decided not to do it.

If you don't believe me, look how long people waited for an Eleven Rack standalone editor.

No one is confused about your request -- the disconnect is that you're expecting an official response and many of us realize that it'll never arrive. This isn't a conversation between two friends, you're a customer of a large corporation which simply isn't going to custom tailor a response to your question for the reasons I've already given. I'm sorry to say it but that's how it goes with Avid.
