Default Best Time Compression Plug-In ??

So I do a ton of narration editing and producing
In many different languages
And many times I have to speed up narration to match length of audio
As some languages (ie Spanish) are typically 20% longer

I also need to speed up, slow down music as well.

What is the BEST time compression/expansion VST?

I have tried those built into protools
And they are lackluster at best.
I can go about 5%, after that I can hear artifacts and skipping audio.

What’s crazy is I DJ as well. And the time compression algorithms there are way better , using Serato DJ , or Alggoridim DJay

FYI. I also own RX Advanced and they don’t impress me

Thanks everyone for any advise.

Serato Pitch N Time Pro with the Voice algorithm is fantastic and can be assigned to the TCE Trimmer tool. It's not cheap though.

If I didn't have that, I would use the Avid TC/E (Legacy) setting for the TCE Trimmer tool, instead of the Avid Time Shift setting. Time Shift is absolutely useless IMO, but the Avid TC/E setting works quite well for small dialog edits. But I still prefer Pitch N Time Pro over any of those.

Just tried the Avid TC/E algorithm
And it’s night and day from the default Time Shift

Can’t afford Serato PnT so I’ll stick to this.

Thanks Scotty

And why would Avid use this Time Shift as its default when they have a much better option. ?
It sounds awful this Time Shift one.

This thread is worth a look - https://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?t=425647

I use Elastique Pro AAX TC/E. Same algorithm as used in Elastic Audio, but available as a TC/E option. Way better than any of the Avid bundled ones and a fraction of the price of Pitch n Time.

i accidentally posted this on another. Serato P-T thread but wanted to post here....sorry

"wait a minute.... i'm on 2022.12

seems that in 2023.3 they added. zplane's Elastic Pro AAAX, a $200 plugin, "alogithm". that supposed to top anything Avid had prior,

anyone use this one? scotty?

time to upgrade my protools to 2023.12, it's free, it's a new TC/E tool, which i really need
i'll believe it when i hear it.

If you want a cheap option that sounds good, try the Waves Sound Shifter.

I agree that Serato Pitch n Time is best, but the cost is crazy and updates are slow. X-Form is good quality, but is takes a long time to process.

I'm slightly confused by this post, but default Pro Tools Elastique is only used in Elastic Audio, not TC/E. TC/E is still a separate product.

oh, not sure, maybe that Elastique from zplane (now in 2023.3 and above) indeed is only in Elastique Audio, i would love it in TCE tool,

i know zplane sells 2 versions, the plugin, for over $300,
and the TCE only version, same algorithm, no UI, no pitch shift, for about 1/2 the cost...

i will install 2023.12 and verify!!

I just got the TC/E only version of élastiquePRO and will be using it. I'm hoping it will better for quick drum and bass edits when beat detective still leaves some slight time stretching to be necessary, so I don't have to engage elastic audio in those cases.
