Presonus Digimax users?

ok, i've been looking at the presonus digimax for a possible i/o expansion for my digi. does anyone use this?
if not..then let me give you a brief run down. eight mic pres in a one rack space unit with adat optical out. bringing the input count up to 16 analog. thinking of using it for drums.

I recently aquired the Presonus DigiMax for my 001/ PowerBook config. I have it in a rack with my hard drives and CD-RW. No mixer. I could instantly tell the difference from the 001 pres. Digimax offers limiters on each channel, a preset EQ (hi's and low's boosted) and the converters are significantly better as well.

hey flying disc. thanks for the info. you're set up seems pretty tight! i know the digimax is alot of money ( try 1199.99, more than the digi itself!) but it promises some real features. it seems well built too. class a discrete circuitry. solid aluminum chasis...
look into it!!

I would have answered sooner, but my ISP has been out for two days. Anyway, I have a Digimax and love it. I mainly got it as a front end for my eight drum mics. However, it blows away my Mackie VLZ and 001 pres for vocals as well. The optical input is really cool and gives you 16 inputs with the 001. The limiter is transparent, and the EQ enhance feature gives my NT2 a nice rich warm sound. A good companion for the 001 - IMHO.
