Default Does the Digi 192 have a built in fan?

I bought a Motu HD 192, and I didn't know it had a built in fan. It isn't very loud, but I'm trying to keep noise level in the control room to a minimum.

Just wondering if Digi's 192 had a built in fan...

Thanks
Imagine

Yes the 192 has a fan, and so did the 888|24.

If the MOTU unit is like the Digidesign 192, the fan speed will relate to temperature. So, to keep the unit running at the lowest speed possible, leave a space above and below, and make sure there is ample room on the sides, too. Also, it helps if the room itself is kept reasonably cool.

The 192 is noisier than the 888/24 was though - and we've got two of them. It's more of a low-mid rumble which is better than winey like some fans.

We've got two 192's in the control room and they're tolerable, though eventually I'd like to get them out of there.

You guys must have rooms that are extemely quiet. I'm jealous.
The only time I ever hear the fan on my 192's is when I power them up. Not only that, the 192's about have to be the first thing I power up or I don't even hear them then - due to other ambient noise. If your room is cool, which it should be, I am sure the AC unit is much noisier than the 192 fan
Those have got to be some costly fans in there. They are quiet amazing IMHO (no pun intended, OK maybe it was )

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Actually yes. I have everything with a fan in it (Mac/d8b CPU/amps/burners etc...) in my closet. The control room is noise free, except for the two dogs next door.

Now if only I can stick them in my closet too!
