Default limiters in LE

Does anyone know of any other good limiters besides the waves maximizers that are RTAS and work well with LE???

dyingsea ,
Do you mean "plugins" ??
Have you tried "Maxim" or the stock Digi Limiter ? Waves L1/2/3 ?
What is your source ?

The Waves L2 / L3 are excellent... Besides those, McDSP Compressor Bank, Metric Halo Channel Strip (Mac only), and Sony Oxford Inflator, just to name a few...

For master limiters, the L2 is my fav - the L1 isn't far behind. I'm not a big fan of Maxim. As for basic track use, the BF 1176, the L1, and the RenComp are used daily.

What's your intended use of the limiter? On individual tracks, I like the L2 and the sony oxford inflator for the brick wall sound on the rare occasion that I want it (sometimes the L1 if I really want to accentuate that "crisp digital" sound). More often I'll crank the ratio on a ren comp or use the 1176 for a more classic super heavy compression sound. For mastering, I've gone almost entirely to the L3...but it takes quite a bit of tweaking to really make it shine...far more tweaking than most would like in a limiter. If it's a really super-quick pro bono master I'll use the L2.

Cheers,
Chris

Another vote for Waves L2 with this proviso: do not make it do more than 3 db of reduction. If oyu need more, add a second L2 plug and keep that one under 3db as well. It really is a solid mastering tool.

Yes, I also believe MAXIM sucks!!! I also really like the L3 multimaximizer, 1176 is ok, love the la2a on bass guitar.

Oh yeah... I forgot about the LA2A. Very good compressor with limiting. I think it's now named BF2A by Bomb Factory...

I have the waves diamond but the older version, only the L1. I really need to get my hands on the L2 and L3, just no money right now. hmm...
