In order to move audio in smaller increments than 1 frame so it syncs properly with video. Pro Tools' timeline when working to video should be in timecode, with a frame rate matching the video. The timecode ruler starts at a frame edge. What would be the point to having the video start in between timecode frames?

That goes against the very idea of having defined frames. Not to be that guy but why in the world would you ever want to do that?

Subframes are explicitly for audio since they don't share the same timebase as video.

For me, sometimes I have mixes that I send to video crews to shoot videos. The video crew then sends me back the video and I have to adjust some of the vocals for lipsync. When I import the video track and the video guys (as always...) didn't start from the same spot where my mix starts, I need to nudge audio or video to stay in sync. Why in the world shouldn't I be able to nudge just the video track to my mix instead of my 200 audio tracks (plus automation, plus tempo changes, etc. etc. ) to the video ? Help me understand !

Which leads me to another one I'd like to have :

- Shift functionality working for Conductor Rulers too !!!

Maybe because 1 frame is huge compared to 1 sample? You lip sync by moving audio, period.

I hate to quote myself, but let's say you have 48kHz audio and 24 fps video. It means 1 video frame holds 2000 audio samples. You have lots of wiggle room with your audio, leave the video alone.

Numbers will obviously change per your session specs.

Exactly, I don't see any reason not to be able to move the video track to an arbitrary location (yes, in audio sample steps) and start counting frames from there. It's just a time location.

Easier tempo mapping. It would seem that the whole Identify Beat and tedious process could be improved with AI.

Sometimes I do soundalikes for older songs not done to a click and this takes a long time.

That's a very good one, pretty "advanced" though (for Avid style...)

I want to create folders, rename plugins and add separators (plus copy & paste to duplicate and put plugins into the correct places) when I create my own Plugin Menu
