Default PT 8 to PT 9 - use updater or full install?

Anyone have success using the updater to go from PT 8 to PT 9?

I can't find any info in the installation instructions

Thanks

I updated with the updater (the 1.9GB file) on Mac. I updated M-Powered 8. Works great.

Used the updater on 2 machines, both from 8|LE to 9 (2008 mac pro, and non unibody macbook pro), no issues found, and I have been working successfully with my Motu Traveler since.

Thanks for the replies and glad to hear it's working!

We're you guys upgrading from LE 8.04?

I'm still at LE 8.0cs3 but I just installed Snow Leopard and I'm wondering if I should install LE 8.04 first and then use the updater to go to PT 9.

Do you think it matters?

Thumbs up Re: PT 8 to PT 9 - use updater or full install?

I did a clean uninstall of v8.0.4 and then installed v9 fresh. It might not have been necessary, but my setup has been working fine.

I think I was at 8.0.3 when I upgraded. Didn't even cross my mind that maybe I should have upgraded to 8.0.4 first, but it seems to be working fine. If I encounter problems, I'll just use the full installer at that point and start fresh.

Had "Register Server" issues with both related to the way my Win7 rig had a custom DEP setting, once I changed that to "essential DEP services" the full installer worked, indicating that one could try the updater from PT8 and be okay. My rig is happier with the DEP setting it seems.
