Default Anyone had this happen: one take makes sound, but another is silent?

I made a set of tracks to record some additional drum bits: snare T/B, OH L/R, and the room, bussed into my usual drum aux channels.

Auditioning the takes now, I can hear only one of them. The first take makes no sound at all; but I can see the waveform in the take lane:

The second take (the one I'm listening to in the pic,) sounds normal. Is protools changing my routing for each take or something?? The silence persists on all channels in this group.

Have restarted both PT and my machine, but haven't yet trashed my prefs... :-/

Thanks

By 'takes' are you referring to playlists? If you want to hear any playlist other than the 'main' one, you either have to solo it or put it on the main track.

Yes, I meant playlist sorry - been working a lot in Live lately :-D

I know you gotta solo it - hence the pic. The pic shows the playlist that makes sound, but when I solo the previous playlist, no sound.

I have no clue hat is going on. If this has been seen much folks would be screaming about it in the past, you can search DUC but I doubt it...

I doubt Pro Tools could change routing by playlist item.

So troubleshoot. Trash prefs (why not do that? It should be the first thing you try), does the badly behaving clip on that Playlist play from the clips list? Try dragging that playlist content to a playlist on another track, not grouped with anything. Maybe try trashing the wavefile cache in case that waveform is not really there. Is it only this session? If so it may be corrupt, try save copy in.
