Default Daisy chaining on IMac. Any problems?

Does any do FireWire daisy chaining on an iMac (specifically the 27")?

I currently do it on my 13" MacBook Pro. MacBook to G-Drive Mini to ProFire 610 and it works flawlessly.

I'm going to replace my laptop with an iMac. Can I expect the same smooth sailing with daisy chaining on the iMac?

I have a FW800 drive attached to my new iMac, with an Apogee Duet chained to the drive. No problems so far. Been using it this way for about a month.

I have a 2007 Imac. I have successfully chained 2 audio hard drives, a 3rd drive streaming BFD2 samples, and a 003R, all from the 800 port, with lots of tracks and plugins.

Be aware, though, that the G-Drives have had certain finicky issues in regard to daisy chaining. If for some reason you have any problems, that's the first place I'd look.

Thanks for the heads up. Though it's been perfect with my MacBook Pro for the last 10 months.

No problems

I think Avid should adopt this recommendation if you are using a bus powered drive. This configuration is the only way I've ever been able to use for bus powered stability.
