Default what\'s a plug-in?

O.k. so I'm sort-of stupid about this whole thing. I can do the basics when it comes to recording...but I'm learning. What the heck are plug-ins and where can I get them, and how do I use them once I've got them. I've got windows ME, and just the demo version of PT right now. But I'm always looking to do more. Please, someone help!!!

Not to get into scientific explanation but plug ins are sound processors that change time versus frequency and more. Used to mold, change sound in numerous ways to your and otheres liking. Delays, reverbs, compressors, equalizers, distortion and so on. You can get them directly from your local Guitar Center or through the web

so basically just effects for your computer. So instead of playing a guitar part with reverb, I could play it dry then add the reverb later...right?

dude, I think you've had enough bourbon

Also, your PT system should have come with a number of plugins already installed.
