Default Absolute grid and grabber with scissors tool issue

I'm not sure if anyone has seen this before or if its a bug with 7.2.

I'm not sure which cs pack if any is on this computer since it's not mine.
7.2 running on a G5 dual 2.0 with HD 2.

Each time I try to grab a region with the grab with scissors [whatever it's actually called] tool, copy and move it, it doesn't quite snap to my grid when I try to drop it somewhere in abs grid mode. It always seems to snap exactly a few samples off.

Any ideas. Mid session here so I can't exactly reboot just yet.
I'll do the usual reboot and trash preferences etc. I was just curious as to whether or not someone has seen this before.

Thanks!!

M
