Buffer Errors with Dell Insprion 6400 Dual Core

hey

I bought this new laptop from dell: dual core inspiron6400 1024 mb ram and a 7200 rpm disk. (Using Mbox)

I've tried pt 6.9 and it's giving me messages about the hd buffer size and messages that pro tools is conflicting with other cpu tasks even when the session is a new one and im trying to record just one track. any one got a solution to this???

I went through all steps of the trouble shooting guide, installed the latest pace driver, installed the ms dual core hotfix and turned off one core and speed stepping in the bios.
I even tried recording to several external harddrives so i know that it's not a hard drive problem.

So please tell me anything you know about this problem.

You're only running one hard drive. The recommendation is to use a separate hard drive for your audio sessions.

Get a recommended external firewire drive.

I tried an external firewire drive of a friend, and. i still get these error messages. I cant even play a single audio track for one second.

When i turn one cpu core off in the bios i can play a single audio track at least for about 30 seconds and the error messages changes (pro tools tells me that it is conflicting with other cpu tasks)
so i guess the problem is with the chipset of my dell, don't you think so?
