Restore crashes

This is not PT specific, but it's our backup system for PT.

We have three 17GB Barracudas and a Sony AIT2 tape backup system on a Beige G3/300 OS8.6 running Mezzo 3.6.6. All pieces are Ultra2 LVD units as is the Adaptec card.

We can backup and verify without a hitch, however, a restore operation tends to crash (alot). Does anybody have any ideas??
