Default Plugin Routing Assistance Needed

Good Day Everyone,

I'm looking for any assistance on an easier way to route a plug in than I'm currently using. There are 2 very short vocal effects that I need to put on a performer and the only way that I could get it to work the way I needed was to do it this way.

Direct out from the Top of the Channel routed to the plug in to come back into an FX return. Which would be the way I would always do it, however I have 3 pre fader aux sends for monitors that can not have the effect on the send. So to make this work I've had to automate the faders, mutes, aux mons, and plugins from the various channel strips and the designer doesn't like how I got it to work.

Is there a way to make the plugin pick off point post fader? I'm using the Digi D-Verb and the Focusrite d2 EQ for the effects - would another plug in have more routing abilities?

Just wondering. Thanks for the advice

Rob Ingram

What about either coming out of a post fade aux send or a group out to the plug in and then return to an FX return or to a ch next to the vox.

Hi Rob,

The Direct Out feeding the plug-in can be made post-fader, if that helps. Here's how:

1) On the Options > Pickoffs tab choose the “Post-Fader” option under “Input Strip Fader Pickoff Point”
2) Go to the Patchbay and click on the “Directs” tab
3) Locate the channel(s) you want to be post-fade.
4) Click in the small box immediately beside the channel name. From the pulldown menu that appears choose “Post-fade”. (An upper case "P" appears in the patchbay, and the channel now appears as "Ch ## - POST" in the plug-in routing menus).

Steps 2 through 4 are necessary because the pickoff point for the direct feed to the plug-ins rack is shared w/ the direct feed from the patchbay.

No - all plug-ins share the same routing options.
