Perhaps the problem is that this is not installed on the console:
VENUE ECx 4.0 Installer (20.83 MB)?
Should I install it to get Venue Link working?
According to the manual, Venue Link is now independent from the ECx, I've got the ECx 4.0 installed and still no love.

I'll include a pic, there is a drop-down selection under Advanced Network Settings > Interface: and that is where the IP gets changed on my system time from time. I just need to click on it and when I do, there appears a different IP than it was showing me at first. So I select the new one, and then I'm able to connect the S3L under VENUE Systems. Sorry for the bad quality pic, it's from the manual.

Absolutely, and that IP address needs to be the exact one you've got on the computer's network assigned IP address. Again, it was supposed to be easy... I predict a riot!

I had the same issue in the very beginning. I created a new network "connection", configured DHCP for it under network settings and called it venue link. so I'm always switching to that one when I'm running venue link. that works great!

Here is the update:

I installed Pro Tools 11.2.2 on another Macbook and it is still the same.
Pro Tools can see the console, but after choosing it from the list, the connection remains inactive.

UK Customer Support is helping me out with the issue. I'll post the solution once it gets resolved.

Just maybe it has something to do with 11.2.2? I'm on 11.2.1

This may help if everything else is set up properly and you're still not connecting:

One often overlooked, and not well documented, step in setting up Venue Link is to engage AVB on the computer. Go to the "Audio MIDI Setup" application, drop down the "Window" menu, select "Show Network Device Browser." This will show the devices on AVB that are available. You should be able to engage the separate SL3 components or the 64 i/o stream entirely (that's the way to go.) I believe this all needs to be engaged, or toggled, for Venue Link to engage.

Separately, Venue Link works down the same ethernet cable as the record stream, you don't need a separate cable as you've mentioned.

Hope that helps!
Jacob

The problem originally occurred on 11.2.1, I upgraded to 11.2.2 just yesterday.

It is not documented indeed and thanks to the DUC forums after 2 hours of frustration I finally found that information when I used S3L about a month ago for the first time. Since then AVB is working fine. As I already mentioned in this thread, the issue is that Venue Link does not work on one of two consoles. AVB works fine on both.
