Re: VST Host For PC
Here's some more info I found over at the K-v-R forum.
<BLOCKQUOTE><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial">quote:<HR>FXpansionAudio Forum Moderator Member # 37 posted 19 February 2002 01:49 Yep...http://www.fxpansion.com/svh2.zip midi support and bug fixes... OK, and now for some documentation... SVH - Simple VST Host Supports ASIO drivers (also MME and DirectSound via ASIO wrappers, but doesn't seem to like the ASIO DirectX Driver at the moment). Supports VST plug-ins and instruments, and MIDI-enabled fx. No support for VST Time Info at this stage - sorry PhatSync'ers. To use:- (1) pick an ASIO driver from the dropdown on the top right (2) pick one or more MIDI drivers from the dropdown on the center right SVH uses a simple "four channel mixer" paradigm. You have input sources at the top, a signal chain of four plug-ins (vertically), and an output destination at the bottom. Four such channel strips is your lot. SVH always works in stereo, and does not support multiple outs from a single VSTi. So, load some plug-ins by clicking the "Load Plug-In" button. You can also load .FXP and .FXB files (presets and banks), and save them again. You can't edit the preset-program names at this time, but you can select between presets using the lower of the two dropdown-selectors underneath the Load Plug-In buttons. The upper dropdown-selector is for choosing a MIDI port and channel. Multiple instruments/fx can be assigned to the same port and/or channel. MIDI CC messages are, at present, automatically mapped 1:1 with VST parameters. Which is nice for controlling effects, and a bit sucky for VSTi's where you may wish to use the MIDI expression controllers for something other than the VST parameters they get mapped to. I'll do something about that later if this thing proves popular. Once you've set up your plugs and their midi channels, hit the "Start/Stop" button for the ASIO driver, and away you go. Note that you can load/unload plugs and change their settings while ASIO is running, but it may not be 100% stable yet - better to stop the ASIO while you change stuff. Oh, and the Load and Save buttons do nothing. They're just an evil tease. Just like (name withheld for legal reasons)... Enjoy it, Angus. VST Host For PC
Just found this over at the K-v-R Forum hosted by FXpansion.com. It's in beta form right now. Here's the link Simple VST Host 14.
Here's the forum link: FXpansion Forum. Look for RT.FX related discussions. I haven't tried it yet but I'll post my findings soon. |
