PT 8.0.1 & Snow Leopard
Firstly,
Digidesign have presently NOT qualified PT 8.0.1 with Snow Leopard. But if you choose to upgrade to Snow Leopard and upgrade to PT 8.0.1 LE then you might find this: all is working fine on 8.0.1 except one thing: The cursor during playback is no longer scrolling smoothly. It now plays in a jagged manner and jumps about a bit or lags behind the beat. The audio is unaffected, but visually it's not encouraging! I was using 8.0 cs3 on SL before and this problem didn't exist........ So for me 8.0cs3 works better in Snow Leopard that the 8.0.1 upgrade! __________________

Re: PT 8.0.1 & Snow Leopard
I have also found this to be true. I suppose it would be to much to ask Digi for an estimate on a release time for a CS update. Based on their testing schedule it looks like it would be a few weeks at best. Any comment digi?

Re: PT 8.0.1 & Snow Leopard
Just to let you know,
I've reverted back to PT 8.0 cs3 and my cursor is back to normal. As I've stated in other posts, 10.5.8 caused crashes for me when I upgraded from 10.5.6 and thus I went for Snow Leopard when it came out. Snow Leopard regained stability for me but as is now apparent, only on PT 8.0 and 8.0 CS3 but NOT presently on 8.0.1. Have a good day yawl!

Re: PT 8.0.1 & Snow Leopard
How did you revert back? full uninstall and reinstall?
Also, were you having that issue where it would freeze upon starting pro tools the first time after a restart? I'm thinking I might do this as it doesnt seem as though 8.0.1 is bringing any improvements to the table. |

Re: PT 8.0.1 & Snow Leopard
I did the 'quicker uninstall' (rather than the complete uninstall), then installed PT8, rebooted, installed cs3 and all was back to normal.
Took about 10 minutes to do. As far as I can see, SL and PT8.0 cs3 is fine. Only snag is if you use an MBOX 1 it doesn't show up in Core audio, although it works in PT. Have a good one.
