Latency problem...
First of all, sorry about my broken English...
I have Core2Duo 6850 3ghz, 4 GB RAM, Pro Tools 8 CS2 instaled on Windows XP and OS X Leopard 10.5.5. On Leopard everything works great, I can put 32 samples latency and my computer still works fine, but on Windows XP I have problem to play virtual instruments with latency less than 256 samples. With 128 samples latency it crackles every 10 seconds, but with 64 samples it crackles every 3 seconds, the same thing is with Nuendo, Cubase, and Kore 2 standalone, or any other standalone VST instrument. |

Re: Latency problem...
You're using XP SP2 with a multi-core processor; have you installed the Microsoft dual-core hotfix?
You might also want to update to SP3.

Re: Latency problem...
First of all use the DPC latency checker to get a clear picture.
Gigabyte MBs with early BIOS (yours is F2) suffer from latency spikes. You have to get the latest BIOS which will take care of the latency.
