Default Using Digi 002 with Machine Control

Hi,

I have a big recording gig on Saturday, It's for my band and we only have one day to get all three of the songs we are trying to get recorded done. I have a 002r and a 2192 for converters. I want to record about 11 or 12 solid tracks and 5 scratch, but I have found the best wa to record is in a live setting. You can see that my problem is I have 10 availble simultaneous tracks and want to record 16 simultaneous. I don't have the money right now to go get a Rosetta or another 8 channel converter so I opted to borrow an ADAT to use for the Scratch tracks and possibly the Bass track (if I need 11).

I tried hooking this setup up with a BRC, But I couldn't seem to get everything talking together unless I controlled it all from the ProTools transport. Even then the pro tools transport would only rewind fast forward and play, I could arm and record both Pro tools and the ADAT simultaneous.

How should I be setting this up? I would like to use the BRC to control them both because it has a nice interface to use since I am also playing the bass in the band.

I also would like to record with Pro tools at 88.2 and just up convert the ADAT stuff later since it's only the scratch sutff anyway.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Matt

Matt,
I could be wrong, but from my experience PT likes to be the master. If you had the SYNC I/O, it would probably be a different story. Good luck! Sorry I couldn't be more help.

Thanks for the info! I thought about using the ADAT for converters, but I would really like to keep my session at 88.2. I might be smoking crack on this but It seems like I get a better sound that way. Plus the I am not so fond of the ADAT converters.

Do you think it really matters if I'm at 48 or 88?

Are the ADAT converters fine?

Thanks Again Guys!
