Anybody seen any difference running PT when logged in as Administrator compared to "Run as". The account can be made visible if not available for login.

I'm totally puzzled now.
I had the pause/play issue quite a lot. I read this thread, did not do anything and now the issue is gone. At least for the moment.
I'm ready to test the "run-as" method, but the "threat" seems to have helped already...

Anyway, seriously, it's there, then gone for a few days, then back. Very strange.

I haven't checked in on this thread in a while. The plague was gone for a few weeks, but SURELY it cropped up. It's NOWHERE as bad as it was w/o RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR, but this has COMPLETELY ruined my work flow, meaning the problem rearing its ugly head any ANY time.

The fact that it is there has forced me to go BACK to using my XP60 as my sequencing device. I'm tired of spending money on software. Compatibility issue this/compatibility issue that. Then there's bugs galore. For now, I'm using PT as strictly an AUDIO machine. I will record MIDI in my XP60 sequencer and then play the audio into Pro-Tools synced via MIDI BEAT CLOCK.

I may even seriously downgrade to 7.3.

epu, this has been an on going issue since 6.0 for most of us, so it could come back with your downgrade, but you probably know that.

I've experienced this bug for the first time recently, and now my machine is doing it a lot. I can say that it is excruciatingly annoying. Restarting PT seems to alleviate it for awhile. I wonder if it is related to the Record button randomly flashing without me pressing it that's been around since 6.x?

I also got a blast of white noise for the first time last night! These issues seem to me to be race conditions in the code, since I experienced neither of these two issues on my slower single core emachines with 6.4-7.3

Annoying isn't even the word. Come to think of it, I never DID experience ANY problems using a Single Core setup. Perhaps this is due to an ill response to dealing with Multi-Core technology?

lots of single core documented problems with it, but don't mind the open questions... That's good.

I may have narrowed down to the problem.

The Play Paise has since returned, but ONLY after I opened the workspace browser for the first time since DVTK install, and previewed files in it. During previewing, it gave me an audio deadline missed, and the issues have now returned everywhere.

Maybe Digi could look into if somewhere in the workspace some sort of memory leak exists or PT keeps "ahold" of something it buffered?

Has anyone else having these problem been a regular Workspace user/browser as well?
