Play/Pause Issue Resolved - Maybe? Try This.

The funny thing on my machine is, that this issue was worse and different in PT 7.4 than PT8 , but it is still there. See my other thread http://duc.digidesign.com/showthread.php?t=244125

I still have to try EPU's workaround.

A quick question, is it an underlying assumption that the built in Administrator account has different privileges/behaviour than a user being in the Administrator group that is the point (Win XP)?

I guess Microsoft may have done some security stuff in that direction but really an Administrator should be an Administrator ?

When you install XP, it automatically creates a "Super"administrator account with the name "Administrator". But, funny enough, you don't need to set a password. You can set other accounts with administrator rights, but obviously there are some differences (never thought about it before).

I am trying this right now to see if it fixes the problem i have been having with PT losing contct with my Behringer B control board. I never set a password when i installed Window Vista so all i have to do is right click the PT shortcut, click Run as Administrator and let is load. And when it loaded the session I had been working on were still there in the start up box.

Just wanted to throw in, there have been no negative issues for me with "Run as Administrator."

^^^^^ Hey Tom how did u do it? did u have to actually go in & set up an admin acct? When I fire my rig up I get the Welcome screen & straight to my desktop... What did u do bud-deeee?

I used Tweak UI to get access to the administrator account, and went from there.

Gotcha'... I saw that earlier but didn't pay attn. because I don't get the error much but like I said b4, 1 time is too many for any of us I think...

I tried to right-click the PT shortcut to choose the Administrator option as well, only to find my standard user was the only one, the dropdown menu contained none other. So what I did was to deselect the box which is crossed out under your standard user, something about protection from unauthorized usage etc.
