Default Advantages of tablet in Meters mode with S1?

I'm using a new Avid S1 and so far it's been surprisingly useful compared to the other control surfaces I've used in the past. One thing, though, is the tablet integration: If I'm using a tablet in Meters mode exclusively, what advantages are there, other than them looking cool?

I can see meters for reference on the S1 itself and for critical monitoring I watch the GUI since the tablet's aren't perfect. The same with other statuses like automation and panning. I have one iPad I'm considering pairing with a dock and have briefly thought about getting a tablet for the S1s meters but honestly don't know if I'd actually be adding anything other than aesthetics.

Does anyone use their tablets in Meters mode with their S1s in other ways?

EQ and compression (not to mention track types -- useful for folder and vca spills)

Track color, Gain reduction, Session overview (know where the S1 is banked to in the session), Group name, Automation, I/O, Pan/EQ/DYN graphs that automatically switch to what you are using on the knobs.

One could get by perfectly well without it, but I personally find it very helpful for seeing where I am in a session (color coded meter strips), automation modes, panning, compression amounts, peak levels on the meter strips, pan positions, etc...
