anyone with a USB Midisport 8*8 ??

well, my problem is that once i turn the midisport on , the computer just freezes....!!! Even when i restart the computer, the same thing happenes as soon as i turn on the midisport....!! I've heared if you use it with a serial port instead , it should work fine.....!!! However, i want to get the most of the USB instead of having to take my modem off and use a serial port instead ... I would appreciate any comment re: this matter....!!!

I'm runnin a PT5 on a Mac G4 450 Dual with 256 MB ram.
