Default Delay/Latency?

I have been using Pro Tools 8 with M-Audio Fast Track Ultra, and have never had this problem before.

I am recording an electric guitar through a foot pedal and into the front of the fast track Ultra (Front /Mic/Inst 1/4 input jack)

The guitar records onto Pro Tools, but each chord I strum lands on the track a little late (it's not my playing). So The track I record is always behind by a bit.

Does anyone know ow to trouble shoot this? Is it a Pro tools setting? Is it a Fast Track Ultra setting?

My Fast Track Ultra settings are as follows:

Sample Rate 44.1 kHz
Clock: Internal
ASIO/WDM buffer size 256 samles

enable asio direct monitoring is not ticked

Thank-you for any help you can give.

Cal
