Default PT 11/12 Stability and WaveCache.wfm

For the first time in as long as I can remember I've had 2 full 12 hour days working on multiple different sessions with zero Pro Tools stability problems (11HD & 12v)

All I've done differently before opening the session is to delete the WaveCache.wfm file & let PT rebuild it each time.

Just wondered why this should be such a crippling issue with PT - as far as I'm aware the .wfm is just the wave images correct? It's a bit hard to fathom why this file would cause PT to fall over if you even just look at it in a funny way (which has been happening quite frequently recently on 12).

The other explanation is that somehow, every time I record a new piece of audio (or make an edit/bounce or commit in 12) PT is corrupting the audio in someway causing a problem with the wave file itself?

Anyway, just thought I'd throw this out there as a bit of info.

Default Re: PT 11/12 Stability and WaveCache.wfm

I get strange permission errors with my WaveCache.wfm as well when running automated backups to my NAS, and my cloud storage. Something about permissions. It's a strange file for sure
