PT 8HD (midi i/o and Command 8).....

Hello folks!

I am trying to set up all of my midi connections so that everything plays nice together. I am kind of stumped at the moment.

Here is what I have that I want to work together properly:

PT 8 HD 3
Command 8
Midi i/o
Midi keyboard controller
Alesis Quadrasynth
Various rack mounted keyboard sound modules


I would like to know the best way to set this all up so that the midi keys controller will run all of the midi modules (rack modules and Quadrasynth as a slave, used just for the sounds).

I like the "hands on" feel with the Command 8 so I would like to keep using it.
The midi controller only has a "Midi Out" output, no In or Through.

Any help would be great.

Wouldn't it be a no-brainer then to get that MIDI out of the controller and in to Protools, then distribute it from there? I have not built as huge MIDI setup as you describe, but it should work as MIDI itself is quite simple. And simply put, if your master controller only has an output, that kind of must be your starting point...
