Default Bounced WAVs don't play on iPod

Hi all,

I'm having a small but frustrating problem. I'm bouncing down some rough mixes to WAV and I want a portable way to listen to them, so I've tried to put them on my ipod. I made a 10-song "album" of these mixes and I find that the ipod skips through most of the tracks as if they're unreadable.

In itunes on my computer, I can play any of the files that are troublesome on the ipod. I also deleted the files from the ipod and re-imported them once but found the exact same problem.

Have any of you encountered any problems with WAVs created by Pro Tools not reading on ipods?

File storage space on the ipod is not an issue, for what it's worth.

More info needed. iPod specs say it supports WAV, more info here: https://support.apple.com/kb/ta38530?locale=en_US

But some of those links are dead, so I can't seem to find max supported bit depth and sample rate.

I do this quite often on my iPhone. If you just want to listen to your mixes, then I suggest you bounce as MP3. Then, you have to ADD the MP3 to your iTUnes library. What I've done is create an iTunes Playlist called "My Mixes" and then I add any bounced songs to that once I've added them to the iTunes library. Then, when I sync my iPhone to my laptop, I just have to make sure I have that Playlist checked for syncing, and any new songs I've added will now be on my iPhone.

If you want to use the WAV files, then you must bounce as 16bit, 44.1k sample rate, otherwise, it won't work. But, MP3s should be fine for just listening back on various systems.
