Default Struggling - is this possible?

I'm really struggling with this -

I downloaded a free VST plug in called E-Kit Trigger. I have a VST->RTAS wrapper.

I'm trying to work out how to get it to trigger sounds in Reason from tracks in Pro Tools. Specifically I'm trying to trigger a kick drum in Reason with the E-Kit Trigger plug in on the live kick drum track within Pro Tools. Sort of like a complicated but free (and real time) Sound Replacer - only with lots more potential for sonic experimentation.

It would be the most awesome thing if I could work out how to make it work. I've been randomly trying things for a day or so and I'm all out of ideas.

Anyone else had any joy using this plug? If you want to experiment you can get it for free from a few sites. Just Google it.

Thanks in advance people.

i dont have any ideas as i haven't ever used VST's.. but I AM curious how to use them / what i can benefit from them. from what i understand.. they're sounds that you could trigger with a midi sequencer.. sort of like a sound module?

This VST is weird - in that it takes an audio input, and produces a MIDI output. I'm not sure, but I don't think that will work with PT and the wrapper. The online documentation is pretty weak... and I'm not inclined to download and install just to figure it out.

tele-player is right... the wrapper does not, at present, support plug-ins that require MIDI Out.

Bugger.

I just can't afford sound replacer and Drumagog is only direct x.

Oh well. I'll find a drum replacement solution somehow.

Try this: apTrigga from apulsoft.

It's only $40 and in many ways better than SoundReplacer. There was a thread awhile ago discussing it; a search for "sound replacer" should turn it up.
