Default Stuck midi notes in ptle 6.9 mbox in record only

Even in the most basic recording -

When I have my m-audio keystation49e running into PTLE recording midi and running a virtual instrument (seemingly any virtual instrument, in this case a 2600) I lose the occasional note-off from my keyboard and get a stuck note on the virtual synth. It seems random, but one note in most complicated chords sticks. Sometimes more than one.

However when I play back the midi track and re-run the recording from the recorded midi track, there is no stuck note problem; it is not recorded on the midi track the same way I heard when I recorded.

Somehow the midi info is passed to the instrument differently during recording than how midi plays back the same data AFTER it is recorded.

What gives? I need to solve this, the whole point of this rig at home is overdubs. . .

Further -

The midi timing is horrible on the input. Even simple repeated note sequences from the keyboard are not timed correctly to the instruments.

This bad timing problem seems to happen to a certain extent on the virtual instruments in standalone, too, although the missing note-offs don't happen to standalone instruments.

Any clue is appreciated.

Hey everybody!

Guess what? I still have the midi stuck note problem with no workarounds. PLUS as an added bonus, this problem appears to be happening on all three of my ProTools systems - 2 LEs and 1 Mbox!

Notes stick on input only (whether I'm recording the midi or not), but don't stick on midi playback. CTRL SHIFT PERIOD doesn't unstick all of them at once either, just a few at a time. None of the softsynths behave this way in standalone, only through ProTools.

Jealous yet? What a Rockin' system I have! I should do demos for Digidesign! It's like tyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyping wwwwwwwwwwithhhhhhhhhhh a baddddddd keybbbbbboaard.

Whew, this is soooo neato! I can't wait to go home and get no work done there, too!

Kurt, I know this is no consolation, but I've experienced stuck midi note issues on every single PT system I've used since 98. I honestly think it's a bug with no "real" workarounds at present. Hopefully it's an issue that gets sorted out in a future release.

Solved it all by myself, as usual.

Plogue Bidule is now on my system as the softsynth player through Rewire. Someday I'll have so many workarounds that I probably won't even see Protools under the mess anymore.

Good luck everybody.

The stuck note is a known bug and has been discussed here many times.
