Default AAX Guitar Cabinet IR Loader

Hi

I would appreciate any advice on best AAX IR loader for Guitar Cabinet Impulse Responses.

Just getting started in that world. . . and current version of Kazrog ReCabinet I just bought is crashing my Pro Tools rig. . .

Need something stable on my rig, first and foremost, but any insights as to which IR Loaders are best, and why, would be appreciated.

I work with cleaner tones, crunch, some real dirty creamy solo tones, but not much metal. Most of the real tones I use are from my various Fender, Bogner Ecstasy, Marshall JCM800, and various real cabinets. . . I also have a Kemper, and many Amp sims, but still find we go for a real amp, but I want to cut down on the volume in the place. . . and be able to tweak cabinets later. . . basically I want to be able to record my real amps without rattling the windows. . . I have several load boxes, and have been using ADA and Palmer, but would like to record the Amp output and be able to tweak cabinets using an IR loader to filter. . .

My Current system is: Pro Tools 2018-12 on Mac Pro 2010 2.93GHz 12 Core 48GB, Sierra, 1 HDX Card, Lynx Aurora 16 x 1, 192 i/o x 2

Which IR loaders for Cabinet emulation on AAX Pro Tools 2018 are stable and best?

Redwirz - MixIR2?
Two Notes - Torpedo Wall of Sound?

Thanks!

Howard

The best and free

The other best and free too

They all do the same, the only thing that could make a difference is the maximum impulse time allowed, some loaders load a maximum of 50ms of the file, this leaves the room sound out to allow you adding your own, the ones above have no time limit which some metal guys find to sound better.

Pretty sure there’s a free one by Blue Cat aswell.

Aside from free, there’s tons to choose from, but essentially, it comes down to the IR being loaded. All the hosts do differently is add FX, filters or allow you to manipulate the IR. My fave for the latter is Fog Convolver.

What I’m not clear about from your OP, is if you’re looking for IRs or if you plan on creating your own from your array of amps etc.

Also, why not get in touch with Kazrog and try to troubleshoot your issue? He was very responsive when I had an install issue in the past. I just wish he replied to my enquiry about some custom sw development.

Great!

Amagras
I did not know Lancaster had AAX.

Sardi
I have contacted Kazrog on the crash issue.
I plan to use existing initially and create my own cabinet IRs down the road.

Thanks!

torpedo wall of sound is what i use...

but 2notes is the one i prefer... better control over the mics etc.
and the build in effects are very useful

I tried Torpedo Wall of Sound. . . can't see how to change the mix balance on the Room Sound/Ambience, or turn that aspect off. . . . maybe I'm blind.

Personally I would much rather focus on the cabinet and mic response first, and add room/space later if at all. . . I generally prefer guitar cabinet recordings close mic'd within a dry space, so I need to be able to dry it out.

Hoping I'm just missing something.

I had looked at that page a couple days ago before I originally posted, thanks to some Googling, but it currently says "*AAX version coming soon". I am just off to a gig, I will look at it again next chance I get. . . maybe the download is AAX and the webpage note did not get updated.
