I 'm sitting here a bit bored and decided to ask a couple well worn and always flame inducing questions...feel free to ignore :)

disclaimer..I own and love my HD2 setup and my new 003r and my old mbox..

ok....I just mixed two cds in Nuendo at a friends studio...a real brain twister trying to get the different keyboard shortcuts relearned...but I was able to put up literally dozens of more plugins than LE could even think of handling...and the ever present ADC issues.....still missing in LE (though the mellowmuse ATA pinger is pretty cool).but implemented in Nuendo...so why is Nuendo so much more EFFIECIENT and WHY are my mixes out of Nuendo like 6db hotter RMS wise than PT (still the best editing platform out there, editing in Nuendo is a pain). What is so different in the coding of these two progs? Plus Nuendo does have this decidedly analog fatness that PT does not. OK FLAME ON.... :)

ok ..also please include any comments on the Black Lion Audio Mod, External clocking pros/cons, and in the box or analog summing opinions ...come on bring it on! :)


Seriously, I'm considering the pros and cons of any and all the above to improve my clarity and depth of field in both my HD and LE systems.....oh and don't forget 2.5 or 3.0 pan law, what does this do for you?

OK, seriously BB, I think ur totally rite about the sound of Nuendo; I've always thought that if Nuendo & PT were WWE Superstars, Nuendo would kick PT's arse...

PT wins hands down when it comes to editing tho.

As far as the plug count, I can't attest to that 1 as I've open a stupid number of large plugs in PT without fail, but then I hadn't really worked immensely in Nuendo that way...\

Thanks Keybeeetsss , i must say my new 003r on a modern desktop had all the power i needed mixing 24 track old school classic rock.(i do remote recording on it then move it to my HD rig for mixing..resourses haven't been much of an issue this year..though were very dramatic in years past ) ... But the overall cpu consumption on Nuendo was so much less it caught my attention.

I can believe that; I think most all other formats are better than RTAS when it comes to CPU consumption which is why Tony Karate & som of the other Avid guys say that the RTAS engine is or will be re-work @ som point...

Ironically tho, I get much more out the LE rig than on our HD3 rig...

So, that being said, Avid realllly needs to show me the Carfax
