Unhappy DAE (-9073) error!??

Anyone with information on this please help. When i try to playback a recorded verse i get this message:
"DAE can't get audio from the drive(s) fast enough. Your drive may be too slow or fragmented, or a firewire drive could be having trouble due to the extra firewire bandwith or CPU load. (-9073)"
Here are the facts:
Used space on my machines hard drive= 31.1GB
Free space on my machines hard drive= 151GB
I have an external hard drive where all my session files go, I ran the disk defragmenter, disk cleanup. My question is Why am i still getting this error message when i clearly have more than enough space on both drives??? what can i do to fix this frustrating problem??

thanks in advance,
CK

Can you give us your machine specs (preferrably a Sandra report) and tell us which Digidesign hardware you're using, how many tracks you're trying to record/playback and what the sample rate of your session is?

I can't because it's not in that thread, but it shouldn't take too much extrapolation to determine several places on the DUC where you can get info on downloading and running a Sandra report, including both of the Windows troubleshooting links in my signature.

I've added information to the thread you pointed to regarding Sandra.

http://brentheber.com/ check out the spanning disk with large track video
also if your pulling alot of data from as in many tracks, this can be a problem regaurdless of all the extra space you have on your drive
what kind of external drive? usb, firewire?
remove non audio (flatline) from your regions with strip silence.this does wonders
