dalwdm.dll causing 6031 error and BSOD
Blue Screen of Death on shut down points to dalwdm.dll as problem...uninstalled/reinstalled/upgraded to PT 10.2 still has problem and frequent 6031 overloaded cpu error interrupts recording/playback. Have tried optimizing, defraging, removed UAD card...is there a place I can download the dalwdm.dll driver only ???
Need assistance....please....!!! |

Re: dalwdm.dll causing 6031 error and BSOD
Have you tried starting with all plugins disabled?

Happens even when I have NO plugins....new sessions, single tracks...it's not the cpu

Re: dalwdm.dll causing 6031 error and BSOD
Lots of Blue screens are driver issues.
Gonna need a Sandra report so folks can help. |

Re: dalwdm.dll causing 6031 error and BSOD
Yes it 's certainly a driver issue. You should investigate what other software you have running in your system and if possible shut them down. In advanced system settings, startup & recovery, you can set windows to write a small memory dump. Maybe you already have but if you download and run 'bluescreenview' you will get a more detailed BSOD-report.
I can recommend Latencymonitor & Multmonitor from www.resplendence.com and procexp64 from MS to keep track of system processes. And a Sandra report is a good thing. ;-) Good luck.

Re: dalwdm.dll causing 6031 error and BSOD
no, I mean no plug-ins in the session...recording new tracks, no plug-ins yet applied in the entire session.
I will download the program and post a dump asap |

Quote:
Some suggestions... If you use a different interface do you still see problems? (I'm not confident that will help). Try upgrading Pro Tools (think you already did) to the latest everything. Try uninstalling and and doing a full clean reinstalling of Pro Tools (important, the goal here especially is to make sure that you don't have a stale/old dalwdm.sys, somebody running the same version of Pro Tools as you could confirm the datestamp in their version). Try reinstalling Windows and everything else....(install as little third party crapware as absolutely necessary). Run whatever memory and hardware diags you can get your hands on/have in your BIOS. Re: dalwdm.dll causing 6031 error and BSOD
This is not a solution but a workaround:
Disable all Digidesign HD … -devices in device manager before shutting down or restarting the computer and enable them again when started up. I have the same problem with Pro Tools HD 10.2 using HD2 Accel PCIe and this worked for me. I also made a batch file doing this automatically before shutdown and startup which I can post if someone needs. The only way it does not work is, if Pro Tools was not closed correctly and you have to restart, sometimes it is not possible to disable the devices anymore before restarting. By the way, I setup a new Windows 7 x64 SP1 without installing any drivers, only Pro Tools 10.2 and the problem still exists. I also disabled all devices in bios or in device manager which were not really necessary without any success. Maybe it is something with the IRQs best regards |
