Problem- During Bounce to disk everything stops
Everything stops and I get a strange looping sound thru the speaks.... And I see an error that says "Overloading CPU. Check for compatiable disk drivers, and try the following: remove RTAS Plug-ins, increase "H/W Buffer Size" in the playback Engine dialog, or thin automation. (-6031)
I have a dual 2.0 G5 set to 99% and a buffer of 512. Not too many plugs going on. It seems I get better on my 002 with LE.... I thought the HD3 accel could handle a little more than what I using. When I look at the system usage, It looks like I usung alot with Reverb One and SAnsamp, but not all the chips are even being hit with anything... I think it said like 75 of 512 or something... I can stop the bounce, save my session and restart Protools and then bounce without issue. Should I be calling Digi? Thanks!

Re: Problem- During Bounce to disk everything stops
You need to double check all this is set up right --
-Energy Saver control panel is Enabled, but set to NEVER. -Set Disk Cache is at 512k -Set DAE playback buffer to 2 or 4. -Increase CPU Usage to maximum setting. (but you say you already did this) -Set HW Buffer to 1024 during playback -- (I know default is usually better, but in this instance, try this setting) Also, **For greatest plug-in efficiency place the effects on Aux Inputs and assign Sends on Audio Tracks to route signal through the plug-in that is on the Aux track.** It also may just be the session is PACKED with automation. If so. What you are doing is just fine. (about stoping, saving, and restarting, and having everything work from there) -- Quoted from Digi : "If you encounter a -6031 error while playing back a session with especially dense MIDI or automation, stop playback, save and close the session, quit and re-launch Pro Tools, and re-open the session before resuming playback." Hope This Helps-- |
