Default Pro Tools 10 installation removed al lot my Air instruments

For some reason, I the Pro Tools 10 installation removed al lot my Air instruments (Velvet and Hybrid). I then had to fish around on the Avid website to try and download them. Not sure if they're still selling these as they were pretty difficult to find and I assume they are not included in the upgrade, despite the fact that I also installed the virtual instruments package

Avid Virtual Instruments (AVI) was Creative Collection Virtual Instruments. Yes there is some confusion, as I personally feel AVI should have been called Avid Creative Collection.

Avid_Virtual_Instruments_10_Installer_73465.dmg from your Avid account.
Maybe this is what's needed.

Avid Virtual Instruments are Boom, MiniGrand, Xpand!, DB-33 and Vacuum. AVI is not Strike, Structure, Velvet, Transfuser nor Hybrid. Creative Collection has been renamed to Avid Virtual Instruments.

What is this installer for? As far as I can tell, the instruments are installed with the regular PT 10 upgrade, making the AVI installer redundant.

Hi Colin, the confusion is Avid Virtual Instruments are not Strike, Structure, Transfuser, etc., but Boom, Xpand! Vaccum, etc., and that needed pointing out.

I downloaded the seperate installer. But still no plug-ins. I read in the "read me" file. You must first install PT than install The virtual collection. If your plug-ins are not there you must un-install PT and the virtual insturment collection. Than re-install PT and The virtual collection. My problem is how do you un-install the virtual collection? I don't see a un-installer for it. I un-installed PT thinking that would un-install everything. But that didn't work.

What you need is either the PTIEP installer or the seperate installers for the plugins you bought which you should be able to find under your Avid account if you registered them.

I accidentally uninstalled the creative inst. while trying to make sure 9 was completely gone, installed 10 and no xpand, boom etc - so my fix was to uninstall 10, reinstall 9, uninstall 9 and leave the creative inst alone then reinstall 10

AVI should be listed as a download in your Avid account if you upgraded.
