Default Please help clients will be back in 30 minutes!!!

I have just got a new client group and they are dropping some big doe to record but I am a little nervous because they are use to going to a bigger studio, and i dont want to dissappoint them and to top it off they have already dropped about $4000.00 in cash. I am still new to protools and come from a Nuendo system, which I know like the back of my hand, but they want to record in PT and PT only!!!!

Need assistance on setting up a 3 seperate headphone mix with 002?
Need one with drums only, 2nd with drums and bass gutair and the last to play all instruments and vox but she need to monitor with reverb but does not want it to record to tape?

Need to record all three simoutaneous but each singer has differeent request for head mixes.

Please help clients will be back in 30 minutess from a lunch break!!!!!

get a headphone amp. Connect it to an output. Then setup a send on every channel to that output. Make sure yoiu set the sends postfader, and that you open them.....

How many physical inputs and outputs do you have? Do you have a Mackie mixer (or something similar)? Can you get a Furman HDS-6 system at Guitar Center while they're at lunch?

Cue sends (for headphones) are usually PRE fader.

How many headphone amps or two track devices with headphone outputs do you own?

Do you need to work in Low Latency Mode or not?

What make and model headphone amplifier?

BTW - for the future.. buy the Furman HDS-6

My question about Low Latency Mode.. will effect if you can use Aux inputs. Can you record as many tracks as you need without LLM enabled with your buffer set low enough?

When you create a send as I explained in my other thread for reverb.. instead of choosing a Buss.. select an unused Output... then feed that to the input of your amplifier(s).

that should be prefader not postfader sends, otherwise the channel faders will affect the monitor mix.

I suggest a bit of honesty with your clients as well. It will pay off in the long run.

So you have the Furman HDS-6 with HR-6 boxes.. then feed everyone a basic stereo mix without vocals, guitar or bass to the stereo inputs... feed the vocal to mono input #1, the bass to input #2, the guitar to input #3 and if you're using a click.. put that to input #4 -- vocal reverb will be the issue.. you can either send it mono with the lead vocal.. or have it in the stereo mix (if there's no click... use input #4). Make 100% sure your cables are in phase so that when they turn up the knob they're adding and not cutting. I've usually been able to get by in professional sessions with 2 stereo cues for the whole band.

If you can get by without LLM then fine.. but if your artists complain about latency (a delay in the cans).. then be prepared to switch modes.
