Default Should I get Waves Gold Bundle?

So I literally just bought the Waves Renaissance package because it was on sale for $150 over a week ago, and now that sale has ended and now the Gold Bundle is on sale for $350 should I get it even though I just bought the Renaissance pack? I was thinking I should because in the future when I wanted to upgrade I would probably be kicking myself when the Gold Bundle goes back up to $800. I can easily afford it and won't be in any financial deficit whatsoever, I just hate spending a lot of money at once lol. So, what would anyone else do in this situation?

Yes.

Waves has specials every month. And they usually rotate deep discounts on their most popular bundles, and they always have a really big discount on Black Friday. You can probably upgrade to Gold from your Renaissance bundle for less than the current $350 sale. Then wait for Platinum or Diamond to go on sale and grab it for just a couple hundred also.

Also, buy through Audio Deluxe or Waves Universe to save even more.

Ok thanks for the advice, just another question, you said I can upgrade from the Renaissance bundle for even less than $350, how could I do that?

Waves upgrade options can sometimes be complex.

Generally, if go from one of their main bundles to another main bundle, the upgrade is just the price difference between them. For example, if you bought Gold, and then later upgraded to Platinum, you will have paid the same as if you just had bought Platinum to begin with, because the upgrade is just the price difference between them.

When the bundle you're upgrading to is on sale, the upgrade price is proportionately on the same sale, so the same situation applies, but it's cheaper!

However, it gets a little more complicated when you are trying to upgrade to a bundle that has some of what you already have, but not all.

In your case, that would be Renn Maxx. This bundle has 10 plugins. Only 5 of them are included in Gold. So the upgrade is really just from the 5 that both bundles share. So the price may be a little convoluted. What's more, it may seem actually more expensive than just buying Gold, because now Gold is on sale, but Renn Maxx is not. So the upgrade might be something wacky like "Gold + Renn Maxx" at some ridiculous price.

Alternatively, the Platinum bundle has all 10 plugins that are in Renn Maxx, so upgrading to that would be much more straightforward.

You can get an idea of what the price would be by going into your Waves account and clicking "upgrades". You will then see some options. But figure that through dealers like those mentioned, the price will actually be about 25% cheaper. But like I said, it may not be that cheap right now, because of how the sale is configured.

Waves puts these popular bundles on sale at least 3-4 times per year, alternating what they feature. Platinum will probably be on sale next month or the month after. If I were you, I would just get comfortable using the ones you just bought, then wait for Platinum to go on sale. Upgrading to that will be much easier, and probably not much more than going to Gold.

If you can hold out a little longer, Black Friday in November is usually when they put everything on sale, so even if you missed the other sales, that's a good time to get whatever you want.
