Increasing Buffer Size error and update to 7.1
I'm having one issue with PT 7.0 and I don't know if this is addressed in the upgrade to PT 7.1
Problem: PT's 7.0 constantly stops while in recording or during playback mode, a window pops up telling me to raise the buffer size ( error -6086) It does the same thing even after I increase it,it's pretty annoying , especially when your in the middle of recording and PT's just stops. I am not loaded up with plug-ins either. Here's what I'm working with: I have a G5 2.5(M9457)with 2.5gb of memory, running Tiger 10.4.3 and Pro Tools 7.0.(Upgrade) Plugin's: Waves Platinum, McDsp Analog Channel LE, SampleTank 2.1XL ,AutoTune, Pultec,Smack,OO2R Factory Bundle Is there a fix in PT 7.1 for this? Should I upgrade to 7.1 and do a automatic upgrade on my MAC from 10.4.3 to 10.4.6? Can I go right to 10.4.6 from 10.4.3? Thanks for the Help Tom |

Re: Increasing Buffer Size error and update to 7.1
Hello,
How long has this been happening? Did you use disk utility after installing PT? Did you try tossing out your Digi database folders? Did you JUST upgrade to 7.0? Did you upgrade Waves plugins? Did you? Gone_D I went to PT 7.1 and 10.4.6

hki, Thanks for the reply!

I am sure they did a disk utility(Repair Permissions)when they installed 7.0. Plus I do it when ever I install software. No, I didn't toss my database folders. Can I do this without having a problem or is there a procedure you must follow? As far as the waves plugins, I'm on Ver 5.0 and the dealer also reinstalled Waves when they did the PT7.0 upgrade. I think they had to when they did the upgrade PT7.0 for Waves to be compatible with 7.0 Thanks Tom |

Re: Increasing Buffer Size error and update to 7.1
try tossing all the folders that are digi database and reboot. Don't worry because PT does a rebuild. I would go to Waves and check on compatibility because I believe you might need 5.1, but check to be sure. Anyway I had the same issue when I went to 7. I went back to 6.9 until digi supported 10.4.6
I got 7.1 update and all has been fine ever since. Gone-D

Re: Increasing Buffer Size error and update to 7.1
hey session48, I also have the same problem and did everything I can do.
Still getting the same error messages everytime after a couple of seconds. If you look on the thread titled poor performance pt 7(13 pages), many people also have the same problems. I have not been able to fix it after a many calls to tech support.
