protools le 6 on iMac G5

hey there! i'm posting for a buddy who can't get online @ present. she just got an 20" iMacG5 w/ 250 GB hdd & we spent a good chunk of time trying to install PT6 & the Digi002 desktop controller. finally got most of the software loaded, but the loading stalls @ the plugins install & the iMac can't find hardware(002). we can set the 002 for in/out in System Pref's., but it can't be selected/isn't found or recognised in Apple's GarageBand, SoundTrack, or Felt Tip's SoundStudio--can't select 002 in these apps preferences. we did discover bad RAM & are waiting for replacement from the mail-order vendor, so the Mac only has 256MB. we did get the 002 to run in standalone, so we can hear the analog/audio from Yamaha Motif 8, the cassette deck & iTunes. she has an Alesis RA100 amp & Tannoy 6" 2-way monitors & a LaCie 120 GB ext. hdd. i'm more of a gearhead & did most of the connecting cables in & out. we want to do some collaborating(i make movies) & i use MOTU 828mk2 & MIDI Timepiece AV, so as an aside, how difficult could this be. any thoughts, help is appreciated. didn´t told what OSX? nor 6.?
if it´s in syst pref sound then it´s rcognised,
(and in midi too)
what manage sound into 002 is digi core audio.
for av miditimepiece, you´ll need to download
motu usb OSX, go to motu website,
for garage go to garage´s preferences and in sound midi
choose digi, same with other applications.
