Default upgrade to 6.7, the 12 steps...

Here is the way I will upgrade to 6.7:

I have 3 system disks
• one with 10.2.8 with PT 6.1
• the other with 10.3.4 with PT 6.4 cs9
• a third one with 9.2.2 for PostConform

1- Erase the disk 10.2.8
2- Install 10.3
3- Repair permissions
4- Run software update
5- Repair permissions
6- Go back to 4 as often as necessary
7- Install ProTools 6.7
8- Install plug-ins, MIDI drivers, etc.
9- Repair permissions
10- Boot with Disk Warrior CD and check all my drives
11- Backup the new system disk
12- Begin testing all plug-ins

That way, if it doesn't work, I still have 6.4 ready to go.

Any other thing I should do?

JC

Yes, always a good idea to go with the an install on another drive. . . I have 3 system drives myself 2 v5.3.1, v6.1 and v6.4. Couple things come to mind. . .I believe you will need to install v6.4 first. . . also all 3rd party plugins will need to be installed, disk based authorization challenge/responses need to me obtained. Midi Driver. . . iLok software update. . . I would probably confirm 6.4 was in and all-good before I did the 6.4 install. . .
