Default Video playout on a separate monitor - XP-v5.3.1

Hi,
What video capture card or protocol are people using out there? This question is specific to PT LE - Digi001 or 002 running on Win XP.
Thanks in advance
Ravi

I am afraid I can not help you with a definitive answer, but as I am investigating the exact same problem it would be really interesting to get some input on this. I have tried using the miro DC10plus card, but it would not output anything to it's composite outputs.

I have also tried using a Sigma Designs Real Hollywood plus MPEG decoding card (with MPEG files imported into my PT session) but this did not work either. If anyone has any tips regarding what video capture card that may work for this purpose, I would be very grateful.

All the best

Espen

I am running an ASUS Geforce 3 Deluxe 64mb card, and it has video capture on it. I use it with Adobe Premier and its fine. It also have a TV out on it so i can out put the vision (as a quicktime movie) to a TV next to my computer.

Its not the most 'Pro' setup but it works fine for me.

Hi vonbleak101, this does sound interesting.

When you output the quicktime video to a TV with your setup, does the image on the TV-set update when you nudge frame by frames? In other words, if you scrub, nudge or drop the cursor in the time line, is this reflected in the image seen on the TV?

I am currently using a Matrox G550 card which has a video out, but it only outputs video when in playback, i.e. nothing happens when I nudge or scrub.

If the video card you mention is able to do what I described, I would be very interested to know, as this could be an affordable solution to my problem.

Any feedback will be appreciated!

Espen
