Default humm

does anyine have a problem with electrical hum in you're monitors?
it is not verry loud, does pt do this or is it another problem.
i've removed all the dimmers and balaists in the house. i separated
my power and audio cables from each other. and my gear is on an isolated breaker
from the rest of the house. i do have the power cables zip tied together
for neatness. can this cause hum? please help!!!???!! thx

if these are powered monitors, are you using balanced (i.e., 1/4" TRS) cables to them? if not, you may get that hum. tying the power cables to an unbalanced cables (i.e. 1/4" TS) may induce a 60Hz hum also.

Try AC ground lifters on your monitors. If this solves the problem, you have a ground loop. The correct way to fix it(do not leave the AC "cheaters" in place) is to clip the sheild connection at the monitor end of your balanced cables(going from your DIGI interface to your monitors).
